Society (1989)

So-Sci-Eat-Tee...

Repeat after me, So-Sci-Eat-Tee...EAT tee....

And a society is a group of social people who in this case have one common ground. They are elite and upper class. They feed off of those who don't belong. They feed off of those beneath them. They eat you alive. So-Sci-EAT-tee...

Despite having it all, Bill Whitney can't help but feel like he really doesn't have it all. Having wealthy parents and residing in a Beverly Hills mansion does not suffice. He feels like an outsider. He feels as though he really does not belong.

The scary thing is, he may be right....

What does it mean exactly, to belong? Why are there certain cliques? Hell, I was never a part of any "clique". I hated them. In High School you had the snotty, stuck, up c*nts, a.k.a. the JAPS. The JAPS always hung out with the obnoxious testosterone induced Jocks. I never wasted my time even crushing on any of them. They were the elite group. Their parents were their enablers, always putting them on a high pedestal, acting as though their child was better than everybody else's. Plus they brainwashed their children in believing that getting a job at McDonald's as a high school student just trying to earn their keep and learn the true meaning of responsibility was way too beneath them. It's all good, there will always be a job waiting for them at Daddy's prestigious and over priced Law Firm. In the meantime, don't work. Live off of your wealthy enabling parents. Keep your nose stuck up high in the air. Keep the Louis Vuitton's, Gucci's and what have you's coming each month. Keep making the normal, hardworking, down-to-earth human beings feel less than human because they actually have to WORK and not have the luxury of living off of mommy and daddy. You and the rest of your elite squad are your own race and culture. Suck the rest of us dry. Eat us alive...

So-Sci-EAT-tee....

I never got an invite to any of the more "upscale" parties in High School and I am so glad I never did!
