Get Out (2017) - Tea Time Anyone?

The time has come, get your blindfold on, hands tied behind your back, and wait to be escorted by your significant other to meet the firing squad, a.k.a. her parents. Parents always want what is best for their little girl when it comes to settling down with the right man. Is he nice? Is he good looking? What does he do for a living? What is he studying to be? Does he come from a good family? Does he come from money? Etc. Etc. Etc.

But all of the above is irrelevant. The main issue is race. The old adage says love is colorblind. And it is because if your child is happy with whomever he or she chooses to be with, then shouldn't that be the only thing that matters? Scrutiny is a privilege that gets abused in the Armitage bloodline. Chris' love for Rose gets misused for the family's own diabolical purpose. I look back now and I think, Ben Stiller had it way better in "Meet The Parents", despite undergoing complete utter scrutiny, sarcasm, and humiliation by his overbearing soon-to-be Father In Law. "Hey Greg, I have nipples too, can you milk me"??? At least he got to keep his life and sanity. Chris on the other hand, needs to relearn the definition of sanity all over again after meeting the parents. Can Rose save Chris? Can their love survive the insanity? Or is she living proof that the apple does not fall too far from the tree?

They were normal once too....

You know I can't let you leave babe....

Just be grateful you did not put a ring on it and got out while you could...
