Greta (2019) - Don't Let Me Be Alone...

Death. Trauma. Grief. Emptiness. Loneliness. Distortion. Pain. Suffering. Apathy. Psychosis. These are all ingredients to a subsequent chain of events which will not end well for some. Francis McCullen lost her mother to cancer. She meets Greta after finding a handbag on the train with her residential address. When Frances returns the handbag, a friendship forms between her and Greta. The friendship is rather peculiar as Greta opens up to Frances about the loss of her husband and how her daughter is studying in France. She tries to console Frances by behaving like a mother figure to her, hence, Frances frequent visits to see Greta. Maybe subconsciously a bizarre sense of attachment is there, that is until Frances finds a whole bunch of handbags in Greta's home that are identical to the one she found on the subway with names and numbers. It is safe to say that maybe Frances should have listened to her best friend Erica, who tried to warn her about the weird relationship they were having. Greta is what I call a collector. A collector of lives...

From then on, comes the stalking, the harassment, the belligerent scene at the restaurant where Frances works. It turns out, Greta's daughter was never studying in France. She had actually committed suicide. Grief brings out the worst in many and the psycho in some. Just like gum, Greta suck around all right. The pain of losing your child is unbearable. Greta's brain circuits were fused with the onset of her daughter's passing and somehow, the feeling of having that child back resurfaced when Frances showed up in her life. She could not bear to lose her daughter all over again..
