When you own an Ice Cream Company, especially if it's targeted towards young children, then shouldn't an advertisement consist of cartoon like imagery that is comical and not creepy? Are you trying to turn off viewers to Ice Cream? Are you trying to give little children nightmares? Can this be chalked up to lapse in marketing judgement? Or maybe, just maybe, you are trying to tell us something..
When I see this commercial, I freak the f*ck out! And I am not an impressionable young child anymore. Many commercials and Public Service Announcements consist of a subliminal message. Sometimes the message is rather cryptic...
This is creepy because this man's gaze is breaking through the screen. This is creepy because he is eating ice cream off his own head. Imagine if this was a Zombie flick, but instead of blood, brains and flesh, it's just ice cream. And this is creepy because this man smiles... Behind a smile, lies something apathetic and devoid of mercy. Behind a smile, lies pure evil.. There is nothing warm about this man's smile. And there sure as hell nothing warm about his stare.
What was this Ice Cream Company thinking???? Creepy gaze and trippy music....
